Green pools are never good to see. In an ideal world, the water in your pool will be crystal clear and blue. When you notice that the water in your pool is starting to look more like a murky pond than a pristine pool, it’s time to take a closer look. There are a number of reasons that a pool can turn green.
Some of the reasons that a pool can turn green are, too much chlorine, minerals in the water, organic debris, and algae growth. When chlorine levels are too high, the water appears green. Chlorine levels are too high when the pH level is below 7. Chlorine is a chemical added to pool water to kill bacteria, algae, and other contaminants. It is important to monitor the chlorine levels in pool water and adjust the pH levels accordingly. When chlorine levels are too low, algae can grow and turn the water green. If green algae is present in your pool, shock the water with a shock treatment. Shock treatments help kill algae and return the water to a clear state.
Pool shock is a chemical used in pools to maintain the chemical balance in the water. Shock is used to kill algae, bacteria and other contaminants when they have built up. Pool Shock is usually added after a pool has been closed for a period of time and is then re-opened. Shock balances the pH level of the water and rapidly removes contaminants such as algae and bacteria.
When should you run Pool Shock Service? Pool Shock should be used when the water shows signs of a failing sanitizer. Signs that your sanitizer is failing include High chlorine levels in your pool water. Green pool water and an excessive amount of algae in your pool. When your pool loses that crystal clear clarity and the water appears cloudy.
Pool shocking does not increase PH levels. Pool shock is a sanitizer which means it is a chemical that kills bacteria and other microorganisms. Shock does not raise the Ph of the water it is simply added to the water to kill the bacteria that is already there. If you test the Ph of water after adding shock to it, the reading will not be correct. Water with shock in it does not have the PH of shock. The reason is that the shock is not in the water long enough to raise the Ph. What happens is that the shock kills the bacteria in the water and then it floats to the top of the water and is free to mix with the air. Hence the name shock.
Pool Shock Treatment is a simple and cost-effective method of treating your pool to ensure that it is clean and free from algae and other bacteria that may occur. It is important that Pool Shock is used on a regular basis to ensure that your pool is clean and hygienic.
